Eating Healthy Leads to Improved Health And Well-being.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human services survey of 2009-2010 states the following: More than 2 in 3 adults are considered to be obese or overweight. More than 1 in 3 adults are considered to be obese. More than 1 in 20 adults are considered to have extreme obesity. About one third of children and adolescents ages 6-19 are considered to be overweight. More than 1 in 6 children and adolescents ages 6-19 are considered to be obese. Overweight and obesity result from an energy imbalance.
Our body weight tends to remain the same when the number of calories you consume is equal to the amount your body burns. Obviously America and much of the World is consuming more calories than they burn. WHY?

The food is neatly packaged with eye-popping graphics, containing trigger words such as: Low Fat, Fat Free , Sugar Free, Powerful Antioxidants and on and on it goes. The average consumer spends 22 minutes in the store twice a week. You are trying to eat healthy but you get home confused. A friend of mine recently purchased some sausage patties for his 4 year old daughter. His wife who is trying to get her family to eat healthy, read the ingredients (24 of them) and threw it out. Once she left the room he asked me "Is my wife becoming a fanatic"? I assured him she was not. You see eating healthy is a process. You have to look at it as a Lifestyle Change and not a Weight Loss program.
You can eat healthy, you just have to become aware of what you and your loved ones are eating. There is a wealth of information on the Internet to help you get educated. Start with fruits and vegetables for healthy eating. Now it's dinner time and let's eat healthy. A 4 ounce serving of lean meat, poultry, or fish. Now colorize your plate. Include a serving of grapes and raspberries along with servings of eggplant and broccoli. Include a slice of whole grain bread and some purified water and now you are getting your antioxidants the way nature intended you to get them. Make this way of eating become permanent. If you do I guarantee your health will improve. You will find that you have more energy. Use this new found energy to get out with your family and play.
Get up, move. Get the entire family to shoot some hoops, go for a swim. play some tennis or golf. It's all exercise and you see, exercise can be fun. It's brought all of you closer together and that's healthy eating and exercise leading to Well-Being!
