Alkaline Water Benefits - There Are None

By Nina Clare

The makers of Alkaline Water Ionizers make stunning claims for their product. According to them, it can cure anything from cancer to tiredness. But can it really do this? Let's see.

All your body fluids have different pH readings. Many are alkaline others acidic. One example is gastric acid. It has to have a low pH (Acidic) or your food wouldn't be digested. your blood must be slightly alkaline or you'll die.

Your body maintains these balances all on it's own without the aid of alkaline water.

But can alkaline water really cure cancer or build up your energy? According to the manufacturers of Alkaline Water Ionizers, as they're called, it can achieve this and a lot more! But will alkaline ionized water actually do what's claimed?

If we're on the subject of biology, we will discuss what would happen if you drank a glass of alkaline ionized water. Your very acidic gastric juices will strip the water of alkalinity. As the water enters your intestines, pancreatic juices will strip it of alkalinity. Exactly what happens? It becomes alkaline!

So any water you drink eventually becomes alkaline anyway!

Anti-Oxidant?

An Anti-Oxidant?

Free radical damage in the human body is presumed to be the real reason behind serious diseases like arthritis and cancer. By ridding oneself of these free radicals (which are presumed to be running unchecked throughout our bodies) will reverse the illness.

Free radical damage within the body is supposed to be the explanation for serious diseases like arthritis and cancer and getting rid of free radicals (which are presumed to be running unchecked within our bodies) will reverse these terrible diseases.

All sounds very plausible, however it doesn't consider that the entire body already has devastatingly powerful natural anti-oxidants which are millions of times more effective!

A bit of a problem crops up here. Is alkaline ionized water really an anti-oxidant anyway? Well, picture this: Did you know that alkaline water can bleach the color from iodine? Yes it really can! it does this because (wait for it... ) it's an oxidant! Think about bleach. The oxidizing strength of bleach is capable of doing exactly the same thing!

A cancer curing anti-oxidant? I don't think so.
